Kapenga Commits to Protecting Local Economy, Property Rights, and Parental Authority
Patrick Kapenga is running for State Representative to protect West Michigan’s local economy, defend property rights, and stand up for parental authority — rooted in the values that define District 89.

Patrick Kapenga is running for State Representative in Michigan’s 89th District with a clear focus: protecting the local economy, defending property rights, and standing up for the families who call West Michigan home.
With deep roots stretching from Holland to Coopersville, Kapenga brings a lifetime of experience as a multigenerational small business owner — someone who understands firsthand what it takes to create jobs, manage rising costs, and serve a community.
“District 89 deserves steady, principled leadership rooted right here in West Michigan,” Kapenga said. “I’m running to make sure our communities stay strong, our economy stays local, and our values are protected.”
Kapenga’s campaign is centered on the issues that matter most to residents across Ottawa and Allegan counties:
• Protecting the local economy by supporting small businesses and pushing back against burdensome regulations
• Defending property rights and opposing government overreach that impacts landowners and farmers
• Standing up for parental authority in education and ensuring families have a strong voice in their children’s future
• Preserving local control, especially against top-down mandates from Lansing
At a time when many feel disconnected from decisions being made at the state level, Kapenga believes representation should be grounded in real-world experience and local accountability.
“I’m not a career politician,” he said. “I’m a business owner, a community member, and someone who believes in hard work, personal responsibility, and serving others.”
Kapenga says his campaign is about more than just winning an election — it’s about ensuring that the values of faith, family, and hard work continue to guide the future of District 89.
“I would be honored to represent you in Lansing and to fight for the people and principles that make this district strong,” he said.
